1. How we collect and use personal information

We collect information that you actively provide when visiting the VoiBots platform or using the products and services it offers, as well as information generated during your use of functions or services and collected through automated means, in the ways described below. The purposes and uses of this information are detailed in the function descriptions that follow.

We do not obtain your personal information indirectly through other channels such as sharing, transfer, or gathering of publicly available information. If in the future we need to obtain your personal information indirectly through other channels, we will only obtain the minimum amount of information necessary to deliver the business functions of the product or service, and will clearly inform you and obtain your explicit consent before collecting and using it. We will also verify the lawfulness of the information source before collection and confirm the scope of authorization already obtained by the party providing the personal information, including the purposes of use and consent to transfer, sharing, and public disclosure. If our processing of personal information exceeds that scope of authorization, we will obtain your explicit consent within a reasonable period after obtaining the information or before processing it.

The purposes and uses for which we collect and use your information are as follows:

1.1 Registering and logging in to VoiBots

When you register and log in to the VoiBots App, you may create a "VoiBots account" with your mobile number or email address and complete the related online identity information (account, password, avatar, nickname). We collect your mobile number or email address and the verification code in order to verify your identity.

The above information is collected to help you complete registration and login and to safeguard your account rights. Such information is necessary for registration and login; if you do not provide it, you will not be able to complete registration or login, nor bind and manage your VoiBots device.

1.2 Device binding and network configuration

1.2.1 Scope of necessary information

When you bind and configure a VoiBots device through the VoiBots App, we collect the device serial number, device Bluetooth address, firmware version, and the name (SSID) and connection status of the Wi-Fi network you select for the device. Such information is necessary for device binding and network configuration; if you do not provide it, you will not be able to complete binding or bring the device online.

Please note that, to complete network configuration, the Wi-Fi password you enter is transmitted in encrypted form directly from your phone to your device. We do not collect or store the password in plaintext, nor do we upload it to our cloud servers.

1.2.2 Scope of permissions invoked

When you bind a device, we need to invoke Bluetooth permission to search for and connect to nearby VoiBots devices and to transmit network configuration information. This is a system permission required by this function; if you refuse, you will not be able to bind a device.

On Android devices, due to system restrictions, scanning for Bluetooth devices requires location permission. This permission is used solely to search for nearby Bluetooth devices; we do not collect, store, or upload your geographic location on this basis.

1.3 Voice conversation

1.3.1 Scope of necessary information

When you use the voice conversation function, we collect your voice audio, recognized text, and conversation content after the device has been woken, in order to perform speech recognition and semantic understanding in the cloud and return a spoken reply to you. Such information is necessary for the voice conversation function; if you cannot provide it, you will not be able to use voice conversation.

Please note that a VoiBots device records and uploads voice only after it has been activated by the wake word. When not woken, the device neither records nor uploads any voice information. You may press the physical mute key on the device at any time to cut power to the microphone hardware, after which the device no longer captures any sound.

1.3.2 Scope of permissions invoked

When you use voice input inside the VoiBots App, we need to invoke the microphone permission of your phone to capture your voice. This is a system permission required by this function; if you refuse, you will not be able to use voice input in the App, but this does not affect using voice conversation by speaking to the device directly.

1.4 Music playback and device control

1.4.1 Scope of necessary information

When you use music playback, volume adjustment, expression and motion settings, or the Bluetooth speaker function, we collect your playback and control commands, the current device status (volume, battery level, connection status, playback status), and related operation records, in order to send commands to the device and display its status to you. Such information is necessary for device control; if you refuse to provide it, we will not be able to provide remote control services, but this does not affect operating the device directly.

1.4.2 Scope of permissions invoked

When you control the device, we need to invoke Bluetooth permission to communicate with it. This is a system permission required by this function; if you refuse, you will not be able to control the device through the App.

1.5 Firmware upgrade and device management

1.5.1 Scope of necessary information

To deliver firmware upgrades, diagnose device faults, and provide after-sales service, we collect your device model, serial number, firmware version, battery level, and connection and upgrade logs. Such information is necessary for device management and after-sales service; if you cannot provide it, we will not be able to provide firmware upgrades or remote fault diagnosis.

1.5.2 Scope of permissions invoked

When you upgrade firmware, we need to invoke network and storage permissions to download the firmware package and transmit it to the device. These are system permissions required by this function; if you refuse, you will not be able to complete the firmware upgrade.

1.6 Device permissions

1.6.1 Location permission

On Android devices, because of system requirements (scanning for Bluetooth devices requires location permission on Android 11 and below), we request location permission when you connect a Bluetooth device. This permission is used solely to search for nearby Bluetooth devices; we do not collect, store, or upload your geographic location. The iOS version does not request any location permission. If you refuse this permission, you will not be able to search for and connect to Bluetooth devices on Android.

1.6.2 Bluetooth permission

When you connect a VoiBots device, we need Bluetooth permission to search for the device, transmit network configuration information, and send control commands, in order to bind and control the device. If you refuse this permission, you will not be able to bind or control the device.

1.6.3 Microphone permission

When you use voice input inside the VoiBots App, we need microphone permission to capture your voice. This permission is used only while you actively initiate voice input, and no capture takes place once the function ends. If you refuse this permission, you can still use voice conversation by speaking to the device directly.

1.6.4 System notification permission

To push messages to you, we need notification permission so that device-related notifications can be displayed in your notification bar, including but not limited to firmware upgrade reminders, device-offline or low-battery alerts, and new feature announcements. If you refuse notification permission, you will not receive these reminders in time, but other functions are not affected.

1.6.5 Storage permission

When downloading firmware upgrade packages, caching device configuration files, or uploading attachments in feedback, we need storage permission in order to save the relevant files locally and transmit them to the device. If you refuse this permission, functions such as firmware upgrade may not work properly.

Please note that VoiBots products contain no camera. We do not request camera permission and do not collect any image or video information; we do not request contacts or SMS permissions and do not read your contacts or messages.

1.7 User feedback and services

1.7.1 Customer service and issues

To contact you, help you resolve issues as quickly as possible, or record the handling and results of related issues, we may keep records of your communications and calls with us and related content (including account information, feedback, device information, other information you provide to prove relevant facts, or contact information you leave). If you make an inquiry, complaint, or suggestion about a specific booking, we will use your account and booking information.

1.7.2 Complaints

When you complain about others or are complained about, in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of you and others, we may provide your account/identity information, contact information, and complaint-related content to consumer protection departments and regulatory authorities so that complaints and disputes can be resolved in time, except where laws and regulations explicitly prohibit such provision.

If you use services provided by Liangchuang Times affiliates or partners through our products or services and file a complaint, in order for the service provider (such as a Liangchuang Times affiliate or partner) to contact you effectively and handle your complaint in time, you agree that we may obtain the personal information you provide in the complaint and pass it to the corresponding service provider.

1.8 Operation and security assurance

1.8.1 Operation and security

We are committed to providing you with a safe and trustworthy product and environment; providing high-quality and reliable services and information is our core goal. To maintain the normal operation of the VoiBots platform and protect the legitimate interests of you, other users, or the public from harm, we collect information necessary to maintain the safe and stable operation of the product or service.

1.8.2 Device information and log information

a. To ensure the safe operation of the software and services and the quality and efficiency of operation, we collect your hardware model, operating system version, device identifiers (on Android, e.g. IMEI, Android_ID, OAID, IMSI, ICCID, GAID, MEID, hardware serial number; on iOS, e.g. IDFV, IDFA — identifiers differ in validity period, user resettability, and how they are obtained), network device hardware address (MAC address), IP address, WLAN access points (such as SSID, BSSID), Bluetooth, base station, software version, network access method, type, status, network quality data, operation, usage, and service logs, and device sensor data.

b. To prevent malicious programs and ensure operational quality and efficiency, we collect information about installed applications or running processes, the overall operation, usage, and frequency of applications, application crashes, overall installation and usage, performance data, and application sources.

c. To analyze statistical indicators such as new installs, activation, retention, and performance, we may access the clipboard for attribution analysis of related statistical information. Please rest assured that we do not collect your private information.

d. We may use your account information, device information, service log information, and information our affiliates and partners are authorized by you or permitted by law to provide, to assess account security, verify identity, identify violations of laws and regulations, and detect and prevent security incidents, and take necessary recording, analysis, and disposal measures in accordance with the law.

In principle, when a new function or service is related to those we currently provide, the personal information collected and used will be directly or reasonably related to the original processing purpose. In scenarios not directly or reasonably related to the original processing purpose, we will inform you again through page prompts, interactive flows, or agreement confirmation in accordance with laws, regulations, and national standards, and obtain your consent.
